Which part of the buying/selling process excites you the most, why?
The negotiations and the contract writing. I love getting the best deal for my client on either side.
What characteristic makes you a great agent?
I’m very personable, go beyond the normal expectations of a Realtor, and am honest to a fault.
What is your favorite thing to do in Richmond?
Anything on the James River.
What is the first thing that catches your eye when you walk into a home?
Floors! I am always looking at the flooring. Flooring will show if they have cared for the home and can be an expensive renovation to take on before moving in!
What made you want to become a real estate agent?
I bought, sold, and built multiple homes in my twenties and found the overall process overwhelming. I felt compelled to dedicate myself in a career where I could focus on creating an exceptional client experience.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to buy/sell a home?
Preparation is everything! I’d like my clients to start the conversation about buying or selling well before they are ready to make the move, even if it’s a year in advance!
What is your favorite thing about being a real estate agent?
Handing over keys to first time buyers.
What is something your clients can expect when they work with you?
Communication. They shouldn’t have to call me with questions.
How has the pandemic changed the way you work with clients?
It’s hard to find that personal connection because we don’t get to interact in person. I miss the hugs.
What are you typically doing when you aren’t working?
Kayaking, hiking, or camping.
How long have you been a Realtor?
14 years.
What did you do before you became a Realtor?
I was a quality assurance specialist at Capital One for 10 years.
