What is your favorite thing to do in Richmond?
There is so much to do in Richmond. I love this town. Festivals, hiking, the river…so many good restaurants…
How long have you been a Realtor?
I have been licensed for almost sixteen years.
What is the first thing that catches your eye when you walk into a home?
The space. Because of my design background, I really focus on space, light, and flow.
How has the pandemic changed the way you work with clients?
There are not as many face to face interactions as there used to be which is a negative for me. However, on a positive note, homes are more meaningful than they ever have been so finding the right one is even more satisfying.
What is your favorite thing about being a real estate agent?
Homes are such a significant investment, and now more than ever a home means so much to a family. It is their home, school, and office. So, as cheesy as it sounds, I love finding the perfect home for my clients!
What made you want to become a real estate agent?
I think real estate was always in the cards for me. I graduated with a degree in Business Administration from the University of Mary Washington. While working towards my second degree in Interior Design, I realized my love for all things “home.” After graduating from VCU, my husband and I moved to the Outer Banks. I fell in love with real estate while working on the designs of so many beach homes. I made the transition from designer to agent and have not looked back since.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to buy/sell a home?
Be patient. Both buying and selling takes patience and trust.
Which part of the buying/selling process excites you the most, why?
As a buyer’s agent, I love seeing my client’s face and excitement when you have found “the one.” As a listing agent, I love the feeling of relief and satisfaction the seller feels when their home is sold and they are on to their next adventure or project.
What characteristic(s) makes you a great agent?
I am very communicative and I have a high standard of ethics and professionalism. I am a people-person and care a lot about my clients. Buying and selling a home can be very stressful. Part of my job is to take that stress off my clients and make it as smooth of a transaction for them as possible.
What is something your clients can expect when they work with you?
An agent who emphasizes communication and professionalism. I work extremely hard to achieve my clients’ goals and look out for their best interests.
What did you do before you became a Realtor?
I was an interior designer for nine years.
