Looking at homes with new buyers. The excitement, the hope, and the hunt are so much fun!
What characteristic(s) makes you a great agent?
I’ve never met a stranger. My clients say they like that I am calm and optimistic in the thick of it when everything goes to hell in a hand basket.
What is your favorite thing to do in Richmond?
I love spending time with family and friends, and especially love when we get the chance to share a good meal together!
What is your favorite thing about being a real estate agent?
Helping people navigate the process. I am drawn to people that need me and want to make it comfortable for first time homebuyers.
What made you want to become a real estate agent?
I love people, I love meeting new people, and I love houses! They’re beautiful. I accidentally got into real estate and it’s the best thing that ever happened to me.
What is one piece of advice you would give to someone looking to buy/sell a home?
Do your research up front. Make sure everyone you’re working with is a good fit for you. It’s worth it having that great relationship.
What is the first thing that catches your eye when you walk into a home?
The entrance. You can tell a lot about a house the moment you walk in the front door.
What is something your clients can expect when they work with you?
A very happy Joy! I over-communicate. I try to stay positive and explain things and set the right expectations.
What did you do before you became a Realtor?
I was an assistant for a realtor. Before that I was an office manager for a chiropractor.
How long have you been a Realtor?
This is my 7th year.
How has the pandemic changed the way you work with clients?
I miss the contact. I miss hugging people and shaking their hands.
